Bruce is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Architecture and Asbury Theological Seminary.  He began preaching in the Methodist Church in 1989 and became the pastor of Morehead United Methodist Church in June of 2002.  Bruce is committed to sound Biblical teaching and fostering healthy ministries in the church.

 

Director of Youth and Christian Education:  Nathan Howard

 

Nate is a graduate of Cumberland College and Asbury Theological Seminary. He is committed to helping students grow their faith so they may discover a very real and relevant relationship with Jesus Christ. Nate has been know to do this in very different and exciting ways.

Minister of Music:  Diana Knoll

Diana became a member of the MUMC when she was in high school after being drawn to the church by the choir and youth group.  Many of the people in the church played instrumental roles in her growth as a human being and musician.  Since then she has been to college and started her career as a teacher.  Currently, she is the General Music and Chorus teacher at Winburn Middle School in Lexington, KY.  Being back in Morehead at the MUMC is a very exciting opportunity, she is honored and humbled to work with so many talented and driven musicians to enhance worship with the gift of music.

 

Keyboardist:  Larry Keenan

 

Larry is a Professor of  Music at Morehead State University, where he has been teaching since 1967.  He is active in University government and has held major offices in several professional organizations.  He is the winner of several prestigious awards for keyboard performers, including a National Championship in the Yamaha Organ Festival.  In 1992, Larry started Playing Hands Ministries in order to reach a larger audience with his musical presentations of the gospel.  He has been a church organist for over 50 years.

 

Church Secretary:  Janie Strunk

 

Janie is a life-long resident of Morehead, where she has raised her two children together with her husband of over 47 years.  She served as a secretary at Morehead State University in the Department of Environmental Sciences for thirteen years.  At that time, she felt God call her to serve Him in her professional life as well as her personal life.  She has ministered to Morehead United Methodist Church with her open, welcoming presence and hard work for over 20 years.
